Is Mike Tyson using his most iconic, and dramatic personal story to launch a product?

Yes. Here's why is working!

From all the things that are coming back from the 90s, I never thought this one would have a sequel.

Mike Tyson’s gnarly story about biting Evander Holyfield in a fighting match in 1997, has turned into a brand story, and with a lot of character!

He's now selling CBD gummies in the shape of an ear, as a wink to that iconic moment in sports history.

If you’ve read my posts, you know what I think about this. Personal stories are weak for brand stories! BUT here are the exceptions, for #cpgbrands #launches

❇️ If you have built a strong personal brand.

❇️ If your story is interesting, and polarizing, and can be verified by many others.

❇️ The story and the product are connected and it feels like “Of course that’s brilliant!”
